Milan: sobriety allows for a graceful charm

The complete renovation of an apartment located in a typical 1960s building aims to create a fluid and contemporary living area, while simultaneously enhancing the large bedroom, optimized in its functions and spaces. The apartment maintains its classic layout, while the kitchen is directly connected to the living room through an aligned passage that also frames the access to the hallway of the sleeping area.

Each room is enriched by niches, shelves, and cabinetry built around the pillars, defining clean and essential volumes. An entrance wardrobe and a second bathroom block are also added, making the most of the available space to shape the new master bedroom.

The terrazzo floor recalls Milanese tradition: the Carrara marble chips inspire the use of the same material in the custom-made bathroom and kitchen furnishings, while defining the color palette of the project, composed of light grays and bright tones, in contrast with the intense warmth of the dark parquet in the bedrooms.
